Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport Terminal Redevelopment

Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport Terminal Redevelopment

Our North American company Hatch Mott MacDonald was appointed civil and airside engineer to design and facilitate construction of the Terminal Redevelopment of Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport. This was part of a total make-over of the existing airport and consisted of new passenger and cargo terminals, expanded airfield infrastructure and better, more simplified public access. The whole project was one of the largest airport undertakings in North America at over $4.4 billion in capital cost.

The centre-piece of the airport development is a new Passenger Terminal Complex that will replace the existing Terminal 1 and 2 facilities. The new 300,000 sq.m. terminal will consist of 80 aircraft stands and associated works. It will initially provide 35 million annual passenger capacity and be readily expandable to service anticipated growth well into the next century.
