Chris Chalk – Director of Aviation Chris Chalk – Director of Aviation has over 25 years consulting experience with the Group. His current skills are in master planning, financial planning and design of airports. His focus is on planning affordable development.
He authored a paper for ICAO on airport security post September 11th 2001. Chris has advised the UK parliamentary select committee on comparative performances of major European Hubs. His recent experience includes the preparation of a 15 year master plan for Manchester Airport including full ground transportation provision. This included developing a ground transportation strategy that minimised the number of airside gates (to two) and also minimised unnecessary airside crossings. He has led master planning teams for a number of airports including Cape Town, Durban, Swaziland, Mumbai and Teesside.
 
Andrew Gibson – Project DirectorAndrew Gibson – Project Director has a career of nearly 20 years in the planning, design, operation and maintenance of airports in the UK and overseas. During a period of over 17 years with BAA he covered all stages of the project process from site supervision on the construction of the new terminal building at Stansted Airport, through to the design and project management of civil engineering and building works in the UK and overseas. Towards the end of his career with BAA he became heavily involved in the IATA Simplifying Passenger Travel initiative which focuses on the use of technology to simplify a passenger’s passage through a terminal. This experience lead to him becoming the Head of Carrier and Ports Integration for the UK Home Office’s e-Borders programme, working closely with air, sea and rail industries to integrate e-Borders into their operations.
